Fall Fun

On a rainy afternoon, in mid-October, we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. This year we went to both the Windy Hill Apple Orchard and Black's Farm. After an afternoon of picnic lunches, corn mazes and hay rides, we made our way across the highway to the Windy Hill Orchard for apple cider, apple donuts and fresh apples for baking.

Claire laughs it up while watching the hay ride.

Mark's Zoo Trip Photos

These were taken by Mark, who considers himself to be photographically challenged. He did an AWESOME job. Which one is your favorite?

Our Dad is Great!

Mark is getting ready to leave for his annual convention this week. Some of you may already be panicking on my behalf. Not to worry, he surprised me today. He took the afternoon off and has taken the three older children to the zoo for the day. What a great guy!! I'm off to feed the baby and fold laundry in peace.....

Toasty Toes

Well, Mark's been away all week and today we had a mild ice storm here in upper South Carolina. At least is was mild here in our neck of the woods. But what better excuse to pop a few logs on the fire and read to the children. So, after we finished school today and returned from a cancelled dance class, I started a fire in the den for the kids. We read a few chapters from our book, Return of the Black Stallion and made plans to toast marshmallows after dinner.

The marshmallow toasting should prove to be fun. Mark ate all the large marshmallows, so now I'm left with a bunch of mini-marshmallows. Hmmmm? Hope you're all warm and toasty this evening.
